Default Ferry, Huelva GC

Has anyone any experience of the ferry from Gran Canaria to Huelva and in particular taking a dog and the ships facilities for dogs.
In addition, we have a pet passport, up to date on rabies jabs (well the dog is) and i understand that 5 days before travel you have to have a vet check and de wormer (dog only, of course) in preparation for entry to the UK
Do I need it to enter Mainland Spain and France or can I leave it and do it in Dieppe 24 hours before we get the Dieppe - Newhaven ferry
