I think tezra may be a little young to remember Bobbit and also it was in the US so she may not have even heard of him in her younger years. I can understand what she is saying it is something that is not widely talk about because I think a lot of men feel it's not quite macho.

To be fair, the country that DV takes place in isn't relevant to the crime and the Bobit case is world famous and still referred to today.
Also "I can't understand what she is talking about" because female on male violence IS widely talked about and the subject has nothing to do with machismo.
Male on female DV far outwieghes the reverse of course, but it should not be denied, and isn't it on the school social sciences agenda these days?

I have to say, in my case, it didn't affect me at all, it was frustrating and annoying but thats it., I know there are more severe cases, I was just making a point that its bad both ways.

She is trying to join in and be part of this forum so I don't think she needs to be shot down so soon. Lighten up a little and give her a chance. OK DV is not a subject to take lightly but there are more ways to bully than giving one a smack, I lived with it for 30 years but not a hand was laid on me.
