Hi All,
I'm wondering if there are any expos/shows in the UK, covering emigrating to Spain?
All I can find is property-sale shows, whereas I'm hoping for something with work permit info, employers, general country info, as well as property, etc.
Many thanks for any suggestions!

Why does the title mention Spain, yet the message specify Portugal?
In either case I would have thought this forum could provide answers to your questions, for both destinations. Try using the Search facility though, before asking a specific question, as it may have been asked previously.
Good luck!

That a typo! Corrected now, thanks.
I did a search before posting, nothing relevant came-up. While new to this particular forum, I am experienced in using fora :-)
If anyone can tell me about a relevant emigration expo/show in the UK, I'll be very grateful, thanks.

@ The OP...
The Place in the sun show is mostly people selling homes but The DWP (department of work and pensions) also turn up there, as do some of the banks etc. Or you can write directly for their useful leaflets.
Most people on this forum have been there and done that. and about 90% are really happy to help. The others are "Blow you jack I'm alright types" or bitter whingers with large chips on their shoulders
You'll soon work out which is which!

If there was an anti-karma I'd give it for this attitude!

The thing about these forums, surely, is that they are for an exchange of information. Siesta time of course is for chatting, arguing, winding people up
etc. But I would have thought it was obvious that a person who hasn't yet moved would ask people who have done the move successfully (some recently) for information, including for tried and tested sources of information. What is so confusing to you jdr?I have asked loads of questions here and had loads of helpful information in my year on here. Why wouldn't we want to pass that on?
If you don't want to be helpful that's your choice, but please don't make people feel unwelcome.

You don't think that was attitude? I find it reasonable for someone to think that expats living in Spain might have used an expo for information.
Although, I would not.
migratingfishswim, I looked at your blog and read many posts. I think if you ditch the expo idea and start looking at where YOU would like to live the most, you will be able to do a better job of finding the info you need, instead of paying an artificial expo company for it. As you have now decided on the EU, and a small handful of countries (and you won't need visas, altho you do need residence permits), I can't see what an expo company can offer you.
My suggestion would be to start reading the forums of the countries you are interested in. The potential problems will be clear themes, as well as the benefits. You'll pick up a lot!
I saw Greece on one of your lists.. if you are looking for professional work, I can tell you from experience, Greece would be hard.
Good luck and happy travels.. this is your year to get it going!

Some of us have been 'here' too long (self included).
I really don't want to get in a tit for tat with you, and you're not going to convince me I was wrong in my reply. If your reply seems justified to you, I'm not going to try further to change your mind either. Thanks for sharing.
