90% of the ex-pats we've met or have had work for us seem to have been Managing Directors or Owners of thriving companies in the UK with very posh lifestyles. Whilst they are here though all they do is try to find bargains at the Jalon market.....! Makes you wonder.....

I have had two kids so probably spent more money than a millionaire, but I still go to carboots for a bargain :rofl:

I think I may have been misunderstood. :)

I have no problems with carboots and the people who go there. I love them myself. But I do think it's a bit funny that people who profess their lifestyle was such where they only wore or wear designer labels and drive hot cars...and then you see them bartering at a stall on the market for a few cents on a pair of jeans or D&G sunglasses & belts.

the really funny thing was that my dad was actually in the SAS, and he hated talking about it, so when he was out there for a bit he would sit and listen to the shite these guys would talk about.

They all seemed to serve in the same sort of places, always in well documented places.

If anyone ever asked him what he did he would reply, "I'm a gardener"

My dad never spoke about the war, apart from when he was wounded and had to return to UK, how the ghurkas would go out in their sparetime and come back with a string with ears on it.

Personally speaking I was the CEO of a huge interplanetary mobile toilet cleaning company. I was really flush and only came here because I was beginning to get bogged down
