Funny enough I have just changed my plug in timer for another pin type one as the old one was quite old . The new one as you say is much quieter when switching on and off. The pin ones are great for me so simple but effective. Only downside really with them is if you have a lengthy power cut you have to remember to re set the time otherwise timings are out as timer stops when power cuts. Smart plugs seem a good idea but for my simple needs old pin timer fits the bill.

The digital ones are fine too but I'd still skip ahead to the newer ones that you can control via an app. It's certainly easier to set them from your phone than it is to have to read the user manual and do everything via little buttons everywhere. :) |
