Doubt that and China is spending more on clean energy than other countries who constantly blame China. Of course a country with 1.4 billion people will generate more COâ‚‚ than a country with 48 million people.

I suspect that's why the quote mentions "society". If every electricity company has to pay back shareholders and investment capital and CxO bonuses and make a profit then things aren't going to improve very much for electricity consumers.

I have just had a quote for my electricity contract renewal. It's gone down by 11%

Ours is at the level it was over five years ago.
We signed up for the 8 hour 100% green tariff and it ended in October..
But its still going and says it will continue until I change it (this tariff is no longer available) or that's what Iberdrola say...

I think the block on the Spanish government this week is going to impact on a large number of things that have been held at bay by Government intervention in the form of various discounts all of which require to be passed into decretos
​​​​At the end of the month large sways of discounts will become nulled and revert to market prices unless someone backs down- and given that the opposition see a vote of no confidence becoming slowly more visible we could be in for a rough ride this year.
