Do they have Electric mopeds in spain. When I lived in Turkey, a lot of expats had these because they didnt need Licences or Residency. I think they needed COC ( Cert of Compliance ) to say it obeyed the rules .
I think the Turks used to use solar panels via an inverter and the charging was free.
I just wondered if these things were in use in Spain. It would make thinks a lot easier for people with houses 3 or 4 miles inland. In the UK they are governed to 15MPH.

I've not personally seen any with solar charging systems but it sounds feasible.
I don't think they are governed to a set maximum speed but obviously max road speed is set by the government road laws. I may be wrong but I think all electric bikes/Scooters have to also have pedals otherwise they have to have MOT tests and insurance etc
I quite fancy an electric bike myself, so I will also be interested in comments from owners.

Hola,
Interesting quote "I think all electric bikes/Scooters have to also have pedals otherwise they have to have MOT tests and insurance etc " unquote
I own both an air wheel (electric unicycle) and a hover-board. Neither have pedals but platforms for your feet instead - an MOT test ??? the mind boggles
For those who have never heard of either- please Google them - you've got to do these things while you're young !

The mopeds I am talking about look just like a small Vespa scooter. No pedals. They are capable of doing 30mph and have a range of about 40 miles. Adequate for shopping runs

Some basic info re them here, sounds like what you want is basically dealt with like a normal small motor scooter. The electric pedal cycles are different and restricted to lower speed. http://citizensadvice.org.es/topic/e-bikes-e-scooters-insurance-and-itv/

I can't to links , but the Peugot Electric E-Vivacity Scooter , is the sort of thing. There are some Chinese ones on Ebay which Cost £400 and have pedals too.

But to be fair, your original post asked about mopeds.

Yes . You are right. I was trying to avoid the Scooter word . A lot of people use that word to describe the tiny things with 3 inch wheels. I am really interested in Either pedalled or non pedalled mopeds Scooters
