Hi
I've just finished cutting down half a dozen conifirs with my electric chain saw with absolutely no problems. I bought it in Lidl several years ago and I think its about the same wattage i.e. 2000w.
I once bought a petrol hedge trimmer used it once, found it wouldn't cut my hedge at all well, no cutting power, put it in the shed and went back to an electric one.
The disadvantage they have is the need for a power lead. if that's not going to be a problem I would go for it.
