I registered with EES on a trip to Norway.
I'm coming over to Spain through Valencia airport and would like to know what to expect:-
i) Is there a separate queue if you have already registered to speed up the process?
ii) What is the likely waiting time?
Thanks in advance.

You're on file for EES for three years or until your passport expires, whichever happens first.
You may be chosen to have your photo or fingerprints or both rechecked on later trips though, this can be done by the EES machine or the border police according to this.

Doesn't really answer the OP's question specifically about Valencia

As for waiting time, like any airport it will depend on a combination of time of day, how many flights arriving, how many machines working at the time you arrive.

I cant really answer about Valencia but so far in my experience, I have still had to initially queue with all non EU passport holders some have and some haven't registered for EES, then at the head of the queue you either get sent to an EES registration machine or straight to an e-gate if you are already in the EES system. The system will probably differ slightly by port but ultimately you will always go through an e-gate to be checked.

I have now been through Valencia airport.
I'm still unsure how the system works as I ignored the new machines.
There was a short queue to the traditional passport control booths so I joined that.
At the booth they checked my passport, fingerprints and took a photo. I was through passport control in the same time as previously.
Having said that, I was lucky as there were queues for the new machines, where you registered before going through a separate e-gate to passport.
Whether I could have avoided that first step I'm still not sure as there was no-one to ask or any signage.
I'll post again if I have any problems on the way back to the UK.

Most likely, it will vary from airport to airport. In PT, everyone is bundled in one single queue, except for EU passports.

I have just come through passport control at Valencia airport on the way back to the UK.
No queue, so straight through, ours was the only UK flight at the time.
1st machine scanned passport, then up to e-gate. passport scanned again and facial recognition.
Why you can't go straight to the egates is beyond me.

But once registered, you should be through pretty quickly anyway. Don't forget these systems (and all others) have to be designed to accommodate the lowest common denominator.
