ha every airline has it ups and downs

easyjet with time
ryanair with only to get ripped off on the food and drinks/ 15kg and 10 kg on board
BA price off flights

ha that sums up

will there a cheaper way if you want 5Euros any where in EU(costal area only) , i give you a life jacket take what you want eat what you want (sea food thats if it donts get you frist )
stop off as many time you want
nice reading light
and you get tan while your traveling

We flew with Ryanair for the first time last month - Liverpool to Santiago de Compostela - and I was panicking because of all the horror stories that I had heard.
I have flown with numerous airlines over the years and I can say that Ryanair is no different to most others.... apart from the price. I used to have to fly with Iberia... scandalous prices.
We (4 of us) took on hand luggage each - all were over the 10kgs allowed but seeing as nobody weighed them we got away with it. We booked one bag into the hold.. 15kg allowed... but when weighed it was 17kg, the check-in girl said not to worry and let it through.
We took home-made sandwiches on board for the journey and a big bottle of pop... all allowed on and happily consumed whilst watching others pay a tenner for a sandwich and a tea or coffee.
We had to queue a fair bit to check in the one bag, but had to do that in the past with other airlines. They have an incredibly quick turn-around (time is money) and the flying time was 20 mins less each way than with any other airline that I have flown with previously... pilot must have been in a rush to get home for his tea!!

All in all... I thought it was fab. Definately use them again.
Never been on Easyjet... something to look forward to maybe??

Interesting feed back folks. It sounds like there is not much to choose between them. However I have heard that the boarding for Ryanair is a nightmare scrum with no staged boarding as with Easyjet ie SB, A , B, etc.
Is this the case?

I either check in on-line and get priority boarding anyway, or wait at the back of the queue to avoid the Ryanair bun fight. This is okay as long as you don't travel with small children as they could be seated several rows away from you, if you are one of the last to board.

We, a family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 children - queued to get on.. no priority boarding and no scrum. We still managed to all sit together on each flight.. a row of 3 seats and then the aisle seat in the next row. Very smooth journey. Perhaps we were just lucky with the seating - but both flights 3 weeks apart? That`s a lot of luck.

Personally I prefer Easyjet as I think they treat passengers slightly better than Ryanair. Easyjet planes have seats covered in material and seat pockets so you can stash your water bottle, book or whatever. Ryanair have bright blue plastic hose down seats with no pockets which definitely give the plane more of a cattle truck type feel.

We flew with Easyjet for several years from Inverness to Luton and then on to Barcelona. If there was ever any problem, delayed flight or whatever they were always very helpful. On a couple of occasions when delays caused us to miss connecting flights they happily put us on the next one for free.
I have heard that Ryanair would charge for this but fortunately have never had to put it to the test.

Never bothered with priority boarding for either airline - just make for the back steps of the aircraft:thumbup:
