Default Easter Break in Marbella

Hi

Spending the Easter break in Marbella, how warm is it at the moment?
Would I need some chunky wool jumpers? It looks like its between 16-18 degrees at present.
Anyone suggest any nice restaurants, places to visit, any info would be great looked at trip advisor but thought I would ask any locals out there
Thanks

What you will almost certainly need, unfortunately, is your raincoat and umbrella! Looking at the 5-day forecast from today, the wet weather looks set to continue.

It's about 20 degrees here at the moment, but windy with off and on rain and it's also cold (relatively) in the evenings.

Things to do would ideally involve hiring a car, otherwise walks along the paseo or watch the Easter processions/look at churches.

Loads of nice restaurants, avoid most along the paseo though. La Red on the beach in front of the paseo is great and there are a few good ones in the Old Town - all depends on your budget and food style preferences really though

Reluctant to recommend places to eat as things change. we have used some for a couple of years and then they have dropped off. One place we have used for about 10 years is Casa Nostra, good budget authentic Italian (even to arguements in the kitchen). Popular with the spanish.

Thanks for the info, looks like we will hire a car for a day or two, do some sight seeing.
Looking forward to some warmth will make a change from the 3 degrees we've been having.
Will most shops be open over the Easter period, just in case it should rain some more!
Any recommendations on places to visit by car as OH has not been before, and I have been many yrs ago and looking forward to returning.
Thanks

Depends what kind of shopping you mean but the local shops will mainly be shut Thursday / Friday. La Cañada (big mall type place) just on the outskirts of Marbella is normally open as will the OpenCor chain of supermarkets (two of those in town).

Places to visit; depends how far you want to drive but within an hour or so I would spend a day in Malaga, visit Ronda, do a white village like Casares and if it's not raining then a trip up to the Malaga Lakes (El Chorro/Ardales) are worth a visit.

Here in Marbella and so far the weather as been nice and sunny and most of all warm
Thanks for info. Walked the golden mile to P.B
Visited the Old Town to see the Easter processions. OH can see himself retiring here between Marbella & Puerto Banus along the Golden Mile, which I knew he would love.
Have the house prices gone down much here & are they likely to, being a popular holiday destination.
Does anyone live near this area , any info. May hire a car to look around tomorrow.

I live in Marbella near the big copper tower, Property prices all over Spain have lowered in these past years, Marbella prices may not have dropped as much as other areas but there are some bargains to be got if you take your time looking around, there does seem to be a bit more property activity since the Cyprus thing! The one thing you will find in Marbella is providing the property you buy is in a good location, rentals dont seem that difficult to achieve either long term or short term!! Other areas of interest to visit include ¨Dali Ally¨ behind cafeteria Marbella walking down to the beach,The Cladah Irish Pub under the Skol building has live muisic most nights,The Coffee dock bar opposite The Cladah is run by John who has been in Marbella for 30 plus years....... The Tavern Pub in the Old town has in Ken and Pam Marbella¨s longest serving british landlords (over 30 years), they also help with tickets and travel to see Malaga football games, (Malaga are in this seasons Champions league), If you like Chinese The grand shanghai near Franks Corner bar has a really nice afternoon 3 course meal of the day for less than 10 euros with a lovely elevated balcony overlooking the sea, a bit more up market is Bekitts nearby! there are also several good tapas bars side by side near the bingo hall! Have a great time, its a nice town!
