The E.U. is BENT

I have posted before how both Gibraltar's and Britains's complaint about Spain designating Gib waters to be a site of special interest was overseen by a panelof 3 judges, one being Spanish.
Today it appears that it's happening again over a tax complaint by Spain
The European Commission will open a new investigation into Gibraltar’s Corporate tax regime following complaints from Spain that it could infringe Community rules on State aid
http://gbc.gi/news/2599/commission-w...-gib-tax-model
What that does not show is this that I cannot get a link to:-
tax probe will be handled by DG for Competition and headed by Spaniard JoaquÃn Almunia.
I'm voting to get out of the EU

However, assuming that this isn't for the plebs it would have to be raised by an MP and/or an MEP. Who is Minister for Gibraltar ? Or is it The Wet Lettuce (William Hague) ??

It has also been mooted that Gib may also have a seperate vote on it's future
I would assume it is possible to lodge a complaint of some sort against a member of the nationality raising the original complaint being involved in the investigation

What referendum !!
IF there is one it will only happen after Cameron has re negotiated many aspects of the UK,s membership.
Next election 2015, maybe you will get your vote by the end of 2020.

Biffta I am refering to the possible UK referendum, I like all Gibraltar residents have a vote for the South West region, therefore I expect to have a vote in any referendum.

Maybe time for an email, however I am sure he is already aware of the situation.

Sounds like a lot like of hot air. Spain has been happy to exempt dividends from Spanish taxation when they come from Spanish companies operating overseas.

I find it hard to understand how anyone in Gibraltar would vote to come out of the EU - Spain only tolerates them because they are in the EU (through the UK).
That tiny rock exists solely as a tax haven for crooks nowadays, though it served a different purpose in past times - Spain knows it, the EU knows it, and so does the UK government.
And the million British expats living in Spain would rather the 30,000 Gibraltarians disappeared down a plug hole somewhere. They are obstructing our relationship with our host country.
The last time I visited I watched some sort of military parade involving what looked like obviously Spanish people parading about in British uniforms. I thought their sincerity level to be somewhere below zero.
British people don't support them, we support the British flag.

sometimes I really do wonder about your knowledge of the people posting and the subject matter.
push you off in a boat from Ceuta and you will probably have no idea where Gibraltar is letalone its history and where it stands as part of the free world

and the average Spaniard couldn't give a barbary ape's cuss about Gibraltar, more than likely think the Govt is spending too much money and effort in rattling a peseta in a tin can.
