Default Driving Conundrum

...or when right is wrong.
Wonder if any Eu drivers or van drivers doing regular trips from the UK in RHD vehicles can advise.
I've driven many miles around EU, but always either with a partner or in a LHD vehicle, but now may have to make the trip solo in a RHD vehicle.
Main problem is the tolls,....picking up a ticket and paying.
Dont see a solution other than getting out and walking around,.....not ideal when its so busy.
Dont know much about the auto.systems, but get the impression they aren't yet standardised, and so may need different cards or check systems in different areas etc.
Avoiding toll roads obviously only adds to the problems on lesser roads with overtaking difficulties etc.
Dont suppose theres a simple solution but just thought I'd ask.
