Default DPD /Interlink Spain

Hi,

Help needed, do the couriers DPD have their own offices here in Spain or do they sub the jobs out to someone else like MRW/Seur/..

I can't see anything on the web, checked tracking numbers on all sites.. but can't seem to find a contact number for the "Huelva" depot?

Help please... many thanks

in my extensive experience SEUR are very reliable

they will phone to find out when you will be at home - & more than once, they were 'in the area' before the expected delivery time & rang 'just in case'

It's the same with all these courier companies in Spain. They are, at the local level, nearly always franchises and the service you get depends on how good the local guys are.

We get amazing service from MRW who Amazon use but many others get the opposite.

In fact we get really good service from all of them but I do know that is not always the case.

Ok.. Didn't want to comment but the results are in...

Two seperate packages Via DPD and they used Seur to deliver them, apparently they have tried for both parcels 3 times to deliver and left 3 cards (we haven't had any out of the 6) and now parcels are on way back to the UK.... Thanks for your help Seur!

So to sum up......... RUBBISH!

As Fred says, that's probably the local guys. It will be different in every area, and will probably depend on their workload that day.

We live in the campo 3Km from the nearest town, but it's very, very simple to find the place. Nonetheless, it's a perfectly normal expectation that anything we order to be delivered by any carrier will always be either "cannot find address" or "nobody home" or otherwise "undeliverable", yet never does anyone show up or call. We then find out about it through internet tracking, and usually have to go to wherever the local office for that carrier is to pick it up - sometimes 50km away.

Obviously, the carriers really don't intend it to be that way. But we know a UPS delivery man and he says it's normal to do that, because the delivery guys have larger deliveries to worry about, and can't be bothered with going out of their way to drop off a single package to some house in the campo, so they just write it off as "undeliverable". Problem solved.

Bribery helps. Our SEUR guy just drove all they way up our unmade road (currently a sea of mud) to deliver some printer cartridges I ordered online. I rewarded him with a bag of lemons!

Seur in my old area was fantastic, great guy spoke loads of languages and always rang m to see if I would be in when he expected to be delivering. I mss his cheery face and chat. GLS well just about to update it !

DPD were totally useless up above Orgiva, used all the excuses, can't find house/ street/ local bar ( could only miss it if you were blind !) or find the village !!! Parcel went back to UK then I re directed it to a friends address.
