Don't buy a property in Spain until you have read this
Some years ago the famous English cricketeer Ian Botham, who owns a property in spain, was involved in a series of advertisements in the national press in which he said "Don't buy a property in Spain until you have read this".
Does anybody here remember seeing those ads and can you please tell me what he was trying to say that you should do before buying a property in Spain?

You just need to participate in the threads that you open, rather than just open and leave them like you did last time you were on this forum
I dont remember such an advert and it certainly doesnt come up in google
He did own several properties in Spain at one time

He didn't give any warning. It was an advert for Viva Property magazine and ran for a couple of years. The don't buy....until you have read this was refering to viva magazine. I am not sure if he has a property in Spain, he just got paid for the ad'

Quite honestly, if it was some years ago: acknowledged in/by the OP, what does anyone with a serious interest in property in Spain NOW hope to achieve by learning the advertising-inspired lessons of a generation back?
