disability parking
Hi, can you good folk tell me what are the rules as far as parking are concerned with a disability sticker. Can you only park in disability parking bays? Some one said you can park in pay as you go lots? Anyone know what you can and can’t do.
Thanks.

I know he has to update his every 10 years so if yours does not mention it (has the EU logo on it) then perhaps it might be a good idea to get it updated with a new badge that will..

Re: disability parking
AFAIK you can park on yellow but not red lines or where you are prohibited by notice or where the area is privately owned e.g. private car park.
Of course, you must display a valid EU badge.

Good advice though!

Most able bodied Spanish drivers do that anyway, including parking on roundabouts, pedestrian crossings, across disabled ramps from pavements, double and triple parking, parking in the middle of the road while the missus just runs into the bank or shop.

Yes the blue badge scheme is EU wide and should say it on your badge at least the one my neighbour has does!

That explains why a local council near us has painted yellow no parking lines around all the roundabouts.

Re: disability parking
Pay and display public parking is normally free for blue badge owners as normally the pay and display machine is a good walk away from where you park!
Hope this helps and if he still has the booklet I'll scan it in for you but don't hold your breath as he is quite unorganized

Re: disability parking
But if not and it is in a blue parking zone, the maximum fine is three €`s if you don`t pay for the ticket.
They leave an envelope on the car and you go to the ticket machine, put three euros in and put the ticket you get in the envelope and post it in the machine.
