Denia...Don't Slap Me..
I have tried articles and a search for Denia but I have snow blindness... .
Someone close to me has sold their appartment in Calahonda and is now considering a Villa in Denia, I have heard there are lots of Brits there but that is about all I know, any info or pointers would help, as I would like to be able to give them some genuine info, I know you guys will not pull punches....please remember if you do not help I may be able to set the powers of MnM loose...be afraid..very afraid..on a dark desert highway...
Thank you.....

Denia is beautiful (the town, I mean). Very spanish and not too touristy YET. We enjoy it everytime we go. There are still well priced villas (around the Denia area) and at the moment the prices are on their way UP! So it's quite a good place to "invest" so to speak.
I did this google search, so there is lots to read up on
I've always been attracted to that "shimmering light"!

Its a very pretty place and we visit there often. I'm told it gets very very busy there in the main season, but there are lots of areas to wander around, many restaurants and bars. We did consider living there on our search, but settled on Oliva.

Hey BB - Martha's my mate
As for Denia - been there, hubby didn't rate it much so we didn't stay long but I remember there was a ferry from there to Ibiza - am I right? Seemed a nice enough place to me, we were staying in Javea at the time and I like Javea.

You need to take some time to look around, theres a lot of back streets with interesting shops, a lovely tree lined pedestrian street with bars and restaurants, a castle (as always), quite a fewe nice little squares, a fairly nice beach, marina, harbour, and yes you can get ferries to Ibiza and Majorca

Hi Mitzyboy, What made you decide to buy in Oliva as opposed to Denia?

I know it was said on here that Denia was less touristy, but in my view it is a major tourist destination. Because of that also, house prices are higher and we found we got a lot more for our money in Oliva. In Oliva I am in easy reach of Denia, Javea, Gandia, Xativa, Cullera. I can go there when I want, but live in an area which is slightly more Spanish than the rest.

Off the tourist strip, the town still remains quiet and peaceful during siestas and on Sundays. I have to say I enjoy the town throughout the year, as I know where to go to avoid the crowds.
