I've used Deepl for a couple of years and found it quite useful.
However today it just sits there after I type in a foreign word.
There is a button for starting a free trial, so have they just changed this?
When I follow the link, I just keep getting a PaidFor option highlighted.
Is anyone else having problems with Deepl?

Despite just being on the free version, I have a Deepl account (I'm thinking to move up to a paid account in the near future) but have noticed that I get signed out from time to time, and signing back in seems to resolve most niggles.

Edit to add:
I'm running on a Windows 10 PC, Deepl is at version 24.11.4.14424

Do you find that is it generally 'contextually aware'? That's what put me on to Deepl rather than using plain old Google Translate.

As an extra - just had fun generating an excellent Christmas card image to use on WhatsApp

Chatgpt will make interactive audio role plays. Really useful. The only bad thing is the American accent.

I didn't know there were Deepl apps. On Windows 10, I've been going to their website:
https://www.deepl.com/en/translator
It's working again now, so it seems like it was a temporary problem on their website.

Maybe the app is better when using it for document translation?
I'm really not sure on this, I haven't pushed it too far.

I find Google translate better when translating from a screen shot, it is simpler and seems more consistent DeepL for me sometimes doesn't translate screen shots. That' is useful because sometimes I have had texts usually from Spanish medical system that sometimes won't copy and paste? They will screen shot and are easily read through Google Translate. I suppose people will simply have their own preference to use .

I've been playing around with the free version of Sider as an alternative to Deepl, and I am quite impressed with it so far.
Although my main objective is language translation, it offers a lot more should one need it. I started with the browser extension, then added the desktop app.
