Why have we not switched over to Decimal time? Is there a reason that this would be better or worse than what we have now?

I suppose you could make minutes, seconds and hours whatever you want them to be.
Taking 365 days to orbit the sun is a bit inconvenient though.

Maybe if you have a word with him upstairs, he'll fix it to a nice round figure,..say 1000 days,...but only problem with that is we'd all be cashing in our chips in our late twenties,..in our prime.
....not good at all,...or on the other hand make it 100 days,...and we'll still be around to a ripe old age of 250 or so,...no not such a good idea at all,...maybe best just leave things as they are.
Wonder what happened to that other strange guy who was upset about Spanish clocks and reckoned they were robbing him of 2 hours of his life every day?
Maybe it was all too much for him and his time ran out altogether....

I just have to ask, are you going to duplicate all your threads?

Ok, if the days of the year were to be left alone would it make for a more efficiant life to change the rest into a decimalised time?

So many things could be done to improve the way we work all this. Wasn't there an idea of switching to a lunar calendar having 13 months of 28 days with an extra 'free day' every year, and every 4 years, a second free day.
If the free day(s) came after the end of Dec, and before the 1st of Jan, it wouldn't need to upset the calendar.

I gather that Faraday or Edison was invited to the palace for dinner with the king, who turned to him and said "Do you suppose there will ever be a use for this electricity you have discovered?"
Faraday responded, "I have no doubt that your government will tax it tho."
Or something like that.
Only two certainties, - death and taxes.
