Haven't read the article, don't need to read it either, it will just be a load of scaremongering, DE style. No-one, least of all the UK government knows just what will happen, what deals will be made etc, what the government has said, or at least wants, is to stop paying benefits to people living away from the UK, and I do suspect that will happen as will the stopping of the WFA.
As the Duke of Edinburgh once said in the 1960's-70's "The Daily Express is a bloody awful newspaper". I guess nothing's changed.

I read it briefly, gained the impression that it was first published in the Star.
The thing that annoyed me the most was a video, pleading the case for U.K. immigrants in Spain, stating that one cannot be a dual national in Spain, well I am, so is my neighbour, he is Venezuelan and Spanish, so are my friends Spanish and Australian.
However apart from that, you are right in your presumptions, the rest of the article was written to sell newspapers.

Not wanting to reopen a can of worms, and I know some Brits in Spain feel strongly "entitled", but benefits (and particularly WFA) for expats should have been stopped years ago. It's a contentious issue and provokes such bad feeling with people living in the UK. Emigrating to Spain is a lifestyle choice after all.

True, but as this is the Spanish forum, I was referring to Spain.

From the article...
What the hell is an "Independent political commentator"?
Bloke down the pub? Cab driver?
Independent political commentator Paul Quigley warned expats are “living in limboâ€.
Bloke down the pub? Cab driver?
