There are families on esuri without electricity,not just tourists,its the major English holidays and in August the Spanish will be flocking to esuri,do they know the power is down?. Rightly or wrongly people have completed without electric connected but that does not mean its ok to leave it that way?. |

I also agree from what I have seen of the way business is conducted that a bull in a china shop approach is more likely to achieve the opposite to what is needed, which is cold, level headed discussion and negotiation using good and independant lawyers. |

The result of those people who I said were getting on to Endesa did not bring up the best of responses so they are visiting the Huelva office today. They did however find the price of generators which don't seem too bad.
"Just been on to a company in Huelva to find out about generators. A generator to run an average three bedroom house with the the normal appliances (washing machine, oven,hob, dishwasher, a/c plus small appliances)would cost between 900 - 1000 euros to buy. I was informed that if you were going to run it for more that three months it is more economical to buy rather that rent." |

Just a thought, what is the position of owners if their renters turn up and eg have no electricity. If I was renting I would be mad and possibly consider legal action against the owner. A refund of the rental doesnt begin to cover the costs (airfare, car hire, loss of holiday etc etc)

Insurance:
Mixed response really. I phoned one person with experience of this and he says that he doesn't think it exists. He enquired about something not too dissimilar last year and got a negative response. I phoned a local insurance company who sounded a bit bemused by the request, didn't know if it did exist but would try and find out. To be honest she didn't sound very promising. Electric: Just been told the generators will be maintained for the next month until a longer term solution can be found. |
