I was referring to the small commercial centre up the hill - but any photos of anything are always good to see!

Guys,

My brother and his very young family will be in CE in a few weeks, they want the contact details of an English speaking doctor/clinic. Could anyone help?

A lot of the clinics have interpretors at certain times, and around here ambulances usually have an English speaker on board, but they would do well to look up kids things before coming over.

Go to the main Spain forum and look in the Free Beer thread at the top, there is a link on there for medical terms, perhaps print it out for them.

Hospital in Ayamonte If you need medical assistance while on holiday, the Medical Centre in the local hospital is situated on the left hand side of the dual carriageway on the way into Ayamonte, near the Eroski Supermarket. To find it go to the roundabout by the Eroski Supermarket, and drive round as though you are driving to Isla Canela. If its between 8-14, you can drive in over the kerb and through the gate in the iron railings, and park at the front or round the side. Alternatively, turn down the road, Calle Extremadura, just before the iron railings, where there is a blue Parking sign P-> and immediately follow the road round to the right into Calle Cordoba where there is a small amount of parking. They are open from 8-14 Monday to Friday for consultations, and Accident & Emergency which is open 24 hours a day Monday to Sunday. Inevitably it will be in Spanish, but they seemed very helpful when obtaining this information.

In May my other half needed some medcial attention and we were told that the medical centre in Ayamonte may not always have an english speaking doctor but the medical centre in Villa Real (Portugal) is more likely too. We went to the one in VR. The doctor told us his english wasn't too great but then spoke in excellent english and he understood everything we said, and we understood everything he said!!! The one in VR is located behind the Sports centre.

As you drive into VR go over the railway line and then continue over the next couple of roundabouts, you will see the sign for the sports centre, follow these signs it should be on your left as you go past it. Take the next left and I think it is the next left again and it will be on the left hand side.

They also asked to see my other half's passport. Overall, we were very pleased with them.

Micheal, JDR, Graham,

Thanks for all the information - extremely useful

Note - I have just received a mail from the management company for Bloque 13 Rago 1 informing me that next week the electricity will be off intermitently. This is so Sevillana Endesa (Electricity Company) can carry out work. Does this actually mean the supply is being connect?

2 weeks ago the whole site was off for 2 hrs 07.00-09.00 Monday morning. I wrote that I thought this might be the start of the connection of the whole site to mains electricity. These intermitant disconnections might just be the moves by Endesa to connect up individual areas.

Hope so!
