A Corpse on our Hands
http://elpais.com/elpais/2013/09/05/...30_166109.html
Can anybody help out and get rid of a dead body ? "We have a corpse on our hands," admitted San Fernando José Loaiza, of the Popular Party (PP), in reference to the building. And the worst part is, there is no way to unload it on anybody else." I suppose it makes a change from White Elephants. |
Re: A Corpse on our Hands
What's another €10 mil in an ocean of waste?
EDIT: That you and I and millions of others pay for... |
Re: A Corpse on our Hands
Aquarium completely free of fish, airports completely free of aircraft, tram tracks free of trams, exhibition halls free of people, motorways almost free of cars, huge housing complexes almost free of people (think Seseña), so what next? But think positive, 31 less out of work! :D

cough NHS IT project, £11 billion down the plughole cough What do the following have in common: the poll tax, the Exchange Rate Mechanism, Individual Learning Accounts, the Assets Recovery Agency, the Child Support Agency, the NHS patient data system, ID cards, HS2 and Universal Credit? They were all policies to which ministers stubbornly stuck despite warnings that they would fail – until they did, whereupon they were either abandoned or salvaged only at vast cost to the taxpayer. You might have noticed that I sneakily added HS2 and Universal Credit to this list of fiascos, when neither has happened yet. But they show worrying signs of following the now-familiar pattern of their predecessors. The claim by the IEA think tank that the proposed high-speed rail link from London to Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds will cost more than £80 billion – double the current estimate – should be setting alarm bells ringing around Whitehall. Instead, they are circling the wagons against hostile fire, insisting that the costs will not overrun (they will) and that the project will be built on time (it won’t). And yes, I'm quoting the UK So long as Aggie, who has stated he has no plans on living in Spain, continues to push his venom here, I will respond (actually I won't, I'm tired of teamUK's trolling and smears here. I'm out). |
Re: A Corpse on our Hands
and I thought you were referring to the decision to do live broadcasts of bullfights on Spanish TV again..

Re: A Corpse on our Hands
OK, I'll try to pretend none of this ever happens in Spain.
(kind of difficult, though, unless I just go into full denial). |
Re: A Corpse on our Hands
This made me smile. he has lost the plot, he tries to make it sound as if it is open:lol:
But some people still believe in the project. Antonio Moreno was the mayor of San Fernando in 2004, and he laid the first stone. "It's a good idea," he argues. "There is nothing like it anywhere nearby. It brings together the history of naval construction, an aquarium specializing in local species... In my opinion, it was worth it." Scrolled down the page. Work also stopped on the Roman amphitheatre, and also the Tram in jaén. |

(kind of difficult, though, unless I just go into full denial). Imagine a forum for say Aussies moving to the UK. Would they (for example) point out all the time, the waste they see. This week alone they could link to article on waste on the new universal credit scheme, or the skyscraper in London that melts nearby cars...Or perhaps the regular catalogue of youngsters killed by gangs.. or perhaps the fact that the Shard is only 20% occupied...??? Of course they wouldn't..not for nothing are we termed whingeing Poms But hey, maybe I'm in a big minority here. This board deserves teamUK sneering from their paradise. "ironic mode" It really is not worth bothering with. |
Re: A Corpse on our Hands
If I were thinking of moving I would be interested in reading the bad as well as the good. We found it useful for Florida on a Florida forum. There are plenty of Spanish property sales type forums which only have the good news, they are heavily censored!
