Computer Help please

I am quite interested in family history and have just googled my husband's surname and on one page the following came up

www.myspace.com/joelattack

... Mr ........... has met his fate. Left frau lowry a widow. RIP ...

I think he is saying that my husband's brother has died but it seems that the site is in Spanish and I don't know how to contact the person. Can anyone please help me?

Why not just change the language to English?

Sorry in a bite of a state - I can't think at the moment.

I have had a quick look through that page but can't see what you are referring to. If you want to contact Joel click on 'Send Message' just under his photograph on the left.

You will need to become a member before you can do so.

Hi Sue - what is all this about! If you want some serious advice then click here and pose your question on this forum board. (have pm'd you) you can say that I have told you to go to this site. The site owner is a friend of mine.

It relates to a message sent to Joel on the 25th January this year (second page of messages). I have joined the site but I still haven't actually managed to send a message yet.

I have managed to confirm by other means that it is my husband's brother that they are referring to

Re: Computer Help please

It seems you have to join the site to view the other messages but don't you have a contact number for your husband's family to check things out before getting yourself into a state?

The kind of people who have posted to that board don't seem to be the type you want to base information like this upon.

I don't know the details of the site Lionda has given to you but if you have no other means of contacting your husband's family then follow her advice.

Sorry to hear your news and how you heard it. Maybe now will be the time for your husband and his sister to sort out their differences.

Believe me we have tried especially in 2001 when my husband was seriously ill and had to have emergency heart valve replacement but no joy.

Thank you for your thoughts. It certainly puts things into perspective. There is me worrying that we cannot find a business to purchase and whether we will be able to stay out here without jobs and speaking the language!! So I have now decided we will enjoy our time together (what will be will be). If we end up having a gap year for a 53 and 57 year old so be it then we will go back and sub off our Son for a change instead of the other way around!!

I know this is off topic and my condolences for the sad news, but what business are you trying to buy?

Anything that will keep the two of us out of mischief but don't have a lot of pennies! Actually we dont even necessarily want to buy a business just find work. I could manage to be the buxom barmaid if required!

What area, what budget and what kind of thing are you looking at?

Will do anything, go anywhere - rather not put budget on an open forum for obvious reasons. Might be commercial estate agents looking!!!

No worries, PM me a rough area, don't be specific, just an upper limit you would rather not go above, and what area in Spain you would prefer.

It most certainly puts a different perspective on things,I think you most certainly start to question what is important when something like this happens.I was not going to mention this on here, but Iv been here awhile now and I know Im amongst freinds,I counted that in recent years we have attended nine funerals,I lost my brother two years ago May 28th,my father in law two years ago May 16th,but the greatest loss was losing my son who was 28 five years ago,Feb 1st.( what will be,will be )is a quote I am always saying ,you never know what is round the corner.Life is to short,I think you just have to do the best you can,I dont know your circumstances or how long you have been living in Spain, but I hope things work out for you, perhaps if you are finding it difficult you could return for a short while,or perhaps your husband could come over and work here for a while,we are hoping to move over within the next year or so,and we have always said that if we come unstuck, the O/H could return has a last resort and work, because like yourselves we are not in the position to retire just yet.If you need any help Im here, even if its only to get things off your chest.Chin up,I always try to think there is always someone worse off.Take care xx

Thank you so much and I feel for you also. Our son is 28 and still living in England and we miss him so much especially as we only had the one child but he arrives next Sunday for a week.

Hubby and I came out at the beginning of January and we have rented an apartment for a year so will certainly stay for that length of time. We have sold up in England so the life savings came with us (not a lot unfortunately) but we decided if we don't do it now we never will.

My father died from related causes of Alzeihmers(?) and he and Mum never had any retirement. Ian and I were not prepared to take that risk so here we are - if nothing else we will go back to England with a lot of memories (if I remember them)!

Sue,its just a thought,I dont even know whether you like dogs and cats, but I know there are alot of people out there with dearly loved pets, and very often they want to return to Uk for various reasons and find it difficult to find somewhere for their dog/cat.Could you not advertise and be a pet sitter,it would not have any costs and would bring in some bread and butter money in the meantime,I know when we move out,I would gladly pay someone to look after my George for a week or two,if I had to return here. Its just a idea.

Now that I like! I have heard that kennels and catteries here are not what they should be.

Hi Sue

I'm sort of coming in on the tail end here, my thoughts are with you. I know this may sound complete rubbish and I have no idea about the area you live in but have you ever considered buying a property with enough outdoor space for build a cattery, if you are living in an area with a large Expat community and there are no others in the immediate area then it may be worth a thought.

I am seriously thinking of doing this when I moved to Portugal, it is something that my daughter has always wanted to do and given UK may not be the best place for some to live in now she may come and join me. Just a thought. much regards to you.

Hi, unfortunately we do not have enough money to buy a property out here - not unless the premium bonds come up in June before I bring what little we do have out here. Thank you anyway for the thought.

xx
