Quote "No hablo Espanol". Second cop smiles and says "he wants your Driving Licence" in very good English.

I have Spanish/Swiss friend who speaks perfect English. He was stopped in UK for speeding. HE decided he would pretend not to speak English. He said, just his luck to get stopped by possibility the only UK cop who spoke just about perfect Spanish. He let him off with a caution anyway.

Depending where his licence was held that would be the most sensible way to deal with him to be honest unless off course his speed was very excessive. You never know what language the cops speak when I was a cop my first ever probationer I took under my wing was Greek by birth and had come to UK via Australia.
