Hiya All

My family and I ( Hubby and 2 boys 6months and 6 years) are planning on relocating to Costa Blanca very soon. WE have been researching many areas and are planning a visit to them in 10 days ! From what ive read online ( may change once we see it ) - Ciudad Quesada seems to tick the boxes.

We are looking for somewhere with a good mix of people , families, close to amenities such as schools, docs, etc and easy access to the airport. We DO not want to live in "Kiss Me Quick" Tourist area but do not want to be issolated either.

Does anyone have any opinions on Ciudad Quesada ?

It has got what you are looking for but if you want the Spanish way of life it is a non starter - hardly hear any Spanish spoken just like a little Britain.

Visit, go through the arch and see how you feel.......

My parents moved to Benijofar which is right next to Cuidad Quesada. I find it a very nice place and after seeing where they were renting before they bought and other places around I think it is one of the nicest places. It feels natural whereas the other places just seem like identical houses built in rows with a shopping parade plonked in there somewhere.

Ive been a few times now and have found spanish people there as well as plenty other nationalities. My parents have settled very well there.

I am hoping to move there with my husband and son in a few years too.

Yes we like Benijofar as well also, La Marina village and Guardamar itself.

I wanted this to be confidential due to us coming over to spain later this year ,But the site will not let me ,so i do not know what the out come will be.
Can (any body ) tell me if there is any connection between QSD and EURO PRESTIGE in Ciudad Quesada. All depending on the answer to this question will depend on the next question, (Hopefully i will be able to ask it in confidence ! )

If I were you OP, with 2 small children, I wouldn't choose Quesada. Benimar is a lot closer to the infant school, and they are just in the process of building a whole new commercial centre on the border between Benimar/Benijofar & Rojales. Guardemar has a bigger population of native speakers, and has a very good school. Also apart from being right on the beach, it has a very good high street, with every shop you need on your doorstep, so no need for a car , unlike Quesada which is built on a series of very steep hills, and a car is necessary. Now, with the price of fuel at it's highest it's ever been , then you may want to take that into consideration.

Sue_g, I live in Quesada and I wouldn't say it's like Little Britain at all. In fact many of the extranjeros here are German, Swedish, & Norwegian. There's a great mix of Spanish, Eastern european & French as well as English, in fact every single one of the above nationailites are living in my road! So poco inglaterra it isn't but neither is it entirely Spanish, but then this is a town that was purpose built as a holiday town and not a working town, so not likely to attract many families of working age. Mainly retired or semi retired here, with the odd sprinkling of young families.

You missed out the Dutch, when I been to Quesada they were the ones I got on quite well with.

Quesada is a 365 day place, but also Benjiofar and Guadamar are only a few K's away, for me Id be quite comfortable in any of ther areas surrounding

Andy when I first came here, there was a lot of Dutch, but there's none now in our road, and the only ones I know of are living in Benimar. Mebbe still some here in Quesada, but I haven't met any for years

Im thinking of coming out there again, maybe taking 2 years there, Just cant make my mind up, so frustrating !
