Default Christmas shopping

...not me, you understand...but dear old MIL!!!!

She asked this morning if we could go out for an hour or two to do some Christmas shopping. This is just one week of coming home and 2 weeks from having her kidney removed...not bad for an 81 year old eh???

We went out for 2 hours, and she did really well, but as I drove her back to our place she had to admit she was feeling 'weary'. She is now sound asleep on her bed!

She has done so well that she will probably go back to her flat this weekend...on the understanding she does NOTHING. I will go over and sort things out for her.

I'm really proud of her. She is one fantastic woman!

Looks like you will have to set up a short leash for her when she is back in her place or she will be overdoing it and going out on the razzle. The operation does not appear to have lessened her stamina and determination. Some people would have been laying around and wallowing in self pity but it goes to show that if you have the right attitude you can overcome things at any age. Good for her.

Fantastic news Sally!

Your MIL is one amazing lady; no wonder you are so proud of her.
The love and closeness you share as a family, is obviously a major factor in her excellent recovery and attitude to life.

I hope this Christmas will be an extra special one for all of you (any chance you might get some well earned rest???? )
Next year will hopefully bring lots of happy and exciting times ahead, and you'll all be able to put this horrible time behind you.
Mind you, it sounds like your dear MIL has already done that!

My very best wishes to her, and a big hug to you

Sam xx
