I have looked on Amazon for a replacement but this disc is no longer available. There are several alternatives - such as Hallmark - but the reviews are not that good. Does anyone use a card making software programme? Which one, and is it any good?

You don't need special software. If you have Microsoft Office with Publisher there are lots of templates for greetings cards. Otherwise just make your own template in whatever word-processing software you use, and just add your own text and photos.

I seem to recall Sainsburys used to sell them all year round
in fact they are part of their low cost range whatever that is called

after sueing the repairer for theft why not do a Google for it, it seems readily available and seems to be available as a free download - or is that the Hallmark version ??

now in non card Spain I use Moonpig, a bit clanky and restrictive but it gets the message across that my daughter and neices haven't been forgotten

Thing I miss most is the low cost diaries you can start buying from Sept/Oct in the cheap card shops and Staples.

Look at this

Seriously?

I see this often on Ebay. An iPad for €3995 for example (and of course there's always products for €1, but €1999 shipping).

An error? I used to think that, but it happens so often that somebody must actually be buying the stuff.

Yes, I saw that too but my anti-virus programme warns me that it is dangerous. I erred on the side of caution.

Have people completely and utterly lost the plot? What's the most useless and ridiculous piece of Christmas tat you've seen on sale?

Yes!

That's nothing.

Back in my Tenerife days, I had a Belgian lady-friend who went down to hotel reception every single morning and had them send off a fax to her cat and a seperate fax to her son who was looking after the cat, every day without fail.

Every single evening she was back again at reception and there would be a reply back from the cat, telliing her what sort of day it had and what it had been up to, as well as a seperate fax from her son.

That went on for 3 or 4 weeks at a time, maybe 2 or 3 times a year, so it's not only the Brits who are a bit nutty about cats.

Naturally that was back before internet had taken over, though no doubt her cat would be a whizz kid at the pc keyboard were it still around today.

LOL, my friend's cat has her own facebook page - and has got nearly as many "Friends" as she does! The status updates are purrfectly hilarious.

It's estimated that around 8 million pets worldwide have their own facebook account.

I will have to set one up for our cockerel then, if he's busy on line he might stop crowing right outside my window all hours of the day and night.

I use Greetings Card Factory Deluxe, it's much better than the Microsoft version, very good for cards calendars and other things, you also have the option of changing things about and using your own photos in the cards.
