Re: Change of Plan

I hope you will be happier Lionda. I hated Spain my first couple of years because I was in the wrong place and wasn't going to stay. I didn't realise that by being in a totally different community with great people around me, could change my view. Years on, I'm more content and happiers, so hope you feel the same yourself. You reminded me when I first moved to my house, a telephone that didn't work when it rained and a few other irritating problems. But thankfully after the initial pain, it got sorted and life moves on. But when you are travelling through that tunnel, it's a pain, lol.

Hope things work out well for you, once the teething problems die down.

Thanks SD :) We are certainly looking at things differently now. Can´t believe how just moving to another town has altered the way we feel about Spain. We were just in the wrong place and being amongst so many moaning brits didn´t help. Can´t remember who said it but it was suggested that maybe we were in the wrong place. Well it was correct. We do feel a lot happier.

We have had a few problemas since we moved, no electricity for a couple of days then when that was fixed we had a water leak in the bathroom. The plumber is replacing some pipes which were badly corroded - so bad they looked like slim treetrunks with the bark hanging off  Have had to use a bucket to flush the loo for a few days and strip down washes only in cold water, no shower :( But all should be ok today, or tomorrow, or maybe by the end of the week  Well.....you have to laugh don´t you

Thanks for the karma, can´t send any back as I have to spread it around first :p

Thanks everyone, I really do feel much happier. My Spanish is still at the baby talk stage but as the town people all talk to me I have had to carry a phrase book and dictionary around with me and am learning new words every day  We´ve now got the plumbing sorted but the electricity keeps tripping. Found out yesterday that we need to have it upgraded, apparently we are getting a 3.3 input and it will be upgraded to a 5  I have even arranged with Telefonica to have a telephone line and internet connection installed so that should be done in the next couple of weeks

Twyntub...we could meet up in Villajoiosa some time or even Benidorm, just say when and we´ll sort something out. It will be great to meet up with you and your family again :)

Thanks DF :) We certainly are happier here. We have found a music bar just along the road outside the village and hubby takes his guitar and banjo on a Sunday night as it´s an open mic. Great fun and outside on a lovely summers evening with good friends and good music
