Carpets?
Having a bit of a debate with myself at the moment, now that the winter is closing in.
It's Spanish sort of thing but they go for the wooden or tiled floors, but they're not so keen on the carpets and I been happy with that till not, but I'm having second thoughts…
Nothing more comforting than a warm carpet in winter to trot around on, so I've half a mind to get some carpets down, at least in the bedrooms.
Love to hear other people thoughts on it.

Re: Carpets?
We found the tiled floors in our old house cold, especially in the bedrooms, so I bought some bedside rugs. They quickly became horribly dusty and needed frequent washing which made me realise how dirty carpeted areas must be. Got rid of the rugs and have never bothered with them since. If I stay in a hotel now which has a carpeted floor I don't really like it, and if carpets get stained some stains (red wine in particular, or tea) can be well nigh impossible to remove.

Re: Carpets?
We have a couple of large short pile rugs that get put down around this time of year.
We also have a couple in the bedroom, the floors get cold so socks or slippers for the winter months.
Haven't had carpets in any house for the last 15 or so years even in the UK, much easier to clean wooden or tiled floors..

Yes, you can buy carpets - Leroy Merlin, AKI, Cortes Ingles, markets etc and very specialist shops selling high carpets.
I have bought a new carpet for my salon (from Amazon) very pleased with it and in spring I will roll it up and store it during the warm weather.

We have deep pile rugs in all the rooms in our apartment, the bathroom being bath mat etc. It makes our rooms feel more comfortable especially in winter. It's dusty yes, but we hoover the rugs and mop the tile edges every day. Our downstairs neighbours are appreciative too!

I wouldn't fit full carpets but do have a few rugs to slip down in the winter. By the bed, in front of the sofa and so on. Vacuum then every week when we clean the house and give them a good cleaning before putting away in early Spring. had them years and never a problem. Got them all from Ikea. Cheerful, colourful and not expensive.

Re: Carpets?
The last house I lived in, in the UK had wall-to-wall carpets throughout, including the bathrooms, but excluding the kitchen, which had lino.
As some of you say I agree that fitted carpets are not really on in Spain, due to the amount of dust you get with the windows open all the time.
Bedside rugs seem the way forward with one larger rug in the salon. The rugs could be put away during the summer months. Regular cleaning during the summer months is essential and I would say a steam clean when they are put away in spring and when they come out again in the autumn, just to discourage any bugs who want to take up residence.
