Any advice on available work or if anyone needs a project completed please contact me. I can give references and images of previous works.

As Concierge for the Spanish section of BE I would like to say hello and welcome.

BE is a very large expat website, so if you have problems finding your way around we have concierges who will try to direct you. The moderators for the Spanish forums are Mitzyboy and Fred James, moderators are there to ensure that the site runs smoothly within the rules of BE. Problems and complaints should always be addressed to a moderador who will look into the matter and deal with it efficiently and fairly. Our members who post in the Spain Forums are friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge of the issues of living in Spain. At the top of the page you will find a quirkily named thread called Free Beer which is full of important and useful information. Hope you enjoy your time participating in the forums.

The employment situation here at the moment is dire but I wish you luck in your research.

Please let me know if you need any further help.

Rosemary

Welcome back...

At the risk of sounding horribly insensitive and uncaring, yes, you and 10000 others.

The property market is essentially flat. Nobody is buying, even fewer are building. A few are renovating, but there are 10000 independent builders who will be happy to work black for cash.

Yachts - you might have a chance. There are lots of yacht service companies, and they have business, but none of them are getting rich. I knew a marine technician who sadly left the island last year because he couldn't make ends meet. It's a tough nut to crack - there are so many here trying to make it in the marine business, because it's really one of the few businesses that's somewhat working.

Mallorca is a lovely place to have money. Unfortunately, it's not a good place to make money.

But if you have good skills, a good attitude and work ethic, speak Spanish (and German would be a big plus) and enough money to keep you in food and shelter whilst building a reputation, you'll probably eventually find your calling. Nothing is easy.
