Default Carob pods.

Any ideas what to do with them, as in getting rid. ?
I don't do baking & there are far to many anyway.
Seems such a waste just to take them to the dump.

One recipe, there are others.

Easy Homemade Carob chocolate Sugar Dairy-Free) Recipe - Dairy-free.Food.com

As best I recall in order to make carob powder the pods need to be boiled up and the contents removed then the pods dried out and ground up fine.

Some farmers still use them for animal feed, I know they are quickly collected and put to use around our way, so maybe if you enquire amongst the local farming community they will advise you.

They're good for goats (mixed with other stuff) and probaly pigs, as pigs will even eat people. I like to nibble them.

Also traditional food for horses and donkeys

I've heard stories of how some people survived on them during the civil war.

High protein I believe.

Thanks, I know a man with a couple of pigs that might like them then.
