While unknown thousands of pensioners dropped like flies from Covid-19 in hundreds of other residences around the country, staff at San Jerónimo in the Navarre town of Estella took the extraordinary step of locking themselves in with their 61 residents for 35 days to protect them at the deadly height of the epidemic in Spain....“They didn’t want us to watch the news on the TV, so we wouldn’t get sad,” a grateful Consuelo Jiménez, 83, told The Telegraph, recalling weeks of isolation.
“They didn’t let us think about that bug on the loose out there. It was the best month I’ve had for many years,” she added, listing bowls, dancing, theatre, gymnastics, tai chi and laughter therapy among the activities improvised by the 15 staff members who volunteered to form a human shield.

There are very similar stories in care homes in UK where the staff decided to isolate themselves with the residents for weeks and months. Wonderful examples of selfless care for others, especially the most vulnerable.

What a wonderful touching story!
However it seems like they might have kept vastly more than their fair share of the world's supply of common sense trapped inside with them.
