Car and trailer

Can anyone tell me the speed restrictions for a car towing a trailer in Spain......not a massive trailer....about 8' overall in length.
Not long now! We are booked on the Portsmouth/Bilbao ferry on Monday 6th. I'm bursting into tears all the time at the thought of leaving our Grand kids behind
......today was my last day at work and I feel kind of sad about that too.....
Oh well, blue skies, peace and quiet and a whole lot of hard work ahead!!!!!

We sail at 9.15pm on Monday and arrive at 8.00am on Wednesday. I really enjoyed the trip a couple of weeks ago despite spending 14 hours in bed feeling sea sick
From Bilbao it took 7 hours driving to get to our place which is about 40 miles west of Murcia. We had to top up with petrol and took a half hour break for coffee and a sarnie.
A guy at P&O has advised me to spend my time on the lowest deck....level 2 which is where the pool and jaccuzi is......he reckons it's not as bad down there if you suffer with sea sickness.
All the best to you to!

Hi Mary
Best wishes and I hope everything goes brilliantly for you. I know how you feel about the grandkids. we are planning to move next year and I keep looking at my little 17 month old grandaughter and thinking 'are we making the right descision' but my daughter tells me to go for it, she is looking forward to the holidays and leaving Sophie(my grandaughter) with us for weeks at a time
Sorry no info on the trailer

Re Seasickness : The best place on any ship is the centre of the ship both length wise and height wise, (includig decks below the water line ), and a central point width wise, but if feeling sick ALWAYS have something to eat , even if its not a lot, as not eating only makes you feel worse............this is 34 yrs of sea life talking ! ! .

Anyone got any hints and tips on loading the trailer?
We are putting the lighter and more valuable stuff in the car, so it's basically the heavier items and things that can't get broken.
Cheers.....only 7 more days to go!!!!!!!:scared:

Apart from obviously making sure that nothing will fall off
When loading the trailer ensure the weight is distributed appropriately. Nose weight is a very important factor in making your vehicle and trailer combination stable during towing.
Inadequate nose weight can cause snaking problems. Too much nose weight causes other problems.
Refer to the recommendations of you vehicle and trailer manufacturers.
It is your responsibility, as the driver, to ensure that your vehicle or trailer is not overloaded.
As a rule of thumb the loaded trailer weight should not exceed 85% of that of the towing vehicle.

{quote}We put five of the seven seats from our car in the trailer and the car was full of flat-pack furniture from IKEA in Wednesbury (West Midlands). We came over on the Portsmouth-Bilbao ferry. Six hours later, on the outskirts of Madrid, we passed a store with a sign outside that said 'Welcome to IKEA'. DOH!()
We are currently just two minutes from Ikea Wednesbury......and we saw the Ikea outside Madrid too, thankfully beforehand!
