How do I find out if my car is taxed in spain?

Or go to the local tax office (recaudacion) with your car registration paper and they can print out a bill.

The tax collection (SUMA) in Alicante will charge the tax to the registered owner as at Jan 1st for the full year - if that was you - you are liable - if not, you are not.

same as the IVTM in andalucia. owner on the 1st of january is the one who pays

Your local town hall might have a website where you can do all this online.

In my case I go to the site and look for "Obtención de recibos para realizar el pago," then click on "Obtener documento de pago." I input my NIE, select "Impuesto Vehículos T. Mecánica" (IVTM which is the annual car tax) and then type in the car's registration number.

It then generates the amount I need to pay and allows me to finalise the payment online too.

See if you can find something similar on the local site where you live. You don't even need to register on the site or have any sort of electronic signature. All you need is your NIE and car reg no.
