Car Rental tip
#1
Hi Just a quick one... I've done this before successfully and posted it... but dont expect everyone to remember.
Normally there is a free cancellation policy if you cancel a reservation outside of 48hours (or so) - depending on the company.
Rates change all the time and if you re-check/re-enter the times you have reserved a few days before you leave, (outside the +/- 48hours) you may find that the price has decreased, especially out of high season.
So call up the company and ask for the reduced price or a refund... but ask them if there's a way they can do it without involving a cancellation and re-booking... i.e an amendment to save the hassle.
Ive done this twice now and all has been handled on one call... both times I saved around 20%. Just now, did it again. Ive got a car with a/c for 50Euros a week with Argus car hire (long term rental) from Faro.
However no transponder (for Portuguese usage on m-ways) - Spain usage +40 and additional driver +26. Still a great price... when split out over several weeks
Always worth it - its just a few clicks and if the price is higher - leave it.
Good luck
Jon

Aaah CW - you've read my Sticky Toffee Pudding recipe on the other thread!
No not one - though I have lived and worked in the granite city... and was made an honorary 'chuckter' (sp) after a year or so!... Great memories!
