Just had my car insurance renewal quote from Sabadell - 41.3% increase! for the same car/no claims

Are other people seeing similar increases with their companies?

Yep same for me - seems to be on property insurance too.

Just phoned my insurance broker - he says around 40% increase is not typical especially without claims.

I have just got my car insurance renewal which is 15 euros more expensive than last year. House insurance renewal is around same as paid last year.

Although I'm not due for another few months I just ran my car through a comparison site and it's showing me about €20 more than I paid my current insurer Liberty Seguros last time.

Yes, I found that site this morning, works very well and you do not have to share an email address they reveal a quote online - excellent.

But...only came out 17€ less than Sabadell/Blink.

I phoned Blink and explained I thought 41% was an unacceptable increase - they replied I did not qualify for a better offer. I asked how I would qualify but they could not answer just 'You do not'

You would think a 69-year-old, average km 6000 pa and a car kept in a private garage would be a good client but evidently not - so now the big decision is do I cancel and run the gauntlet with higher Sabadell bank charges (see my other thread)

Have you contacted other insurers? Someone called one of these "phone-only" companies in my name and got a ridiculously high quote compared to what a regular "high-street" insurer offered the very next day.

No not an EV.....decided against one at the moment because of range anxiety - will it make the last 8kms climbing up 300 mts to my mountain village.

I am currently with Linea directa for my car insurance which is getting to be quite expensive despite no claims in the last 10 yrs. I got a quote from caser through the link posted above by Notdunroamin that came out at around 150 euros cheaper.
Good result so I thought.
However having read the reviews of this company both in Spanish & English on various sites, there are far more horror stories than compliments. So maybe cheaper is not better in my case?

Just tell LD that you have got a better quote and they will probably match it. I’m paying them much the same as I was 20 years ago.
