Hi All,
There have been hundreds of posts re importing a RHD car into Spain, so i will try not to go over old ground (apologies if i fail). I start a new job in Gib (will be living in Spain) in 3 weeks and we need to drive down there for various reasons. The impending pain and suffering involved with all of this is already causing me stress and it's not even started yet!
I will be getting it onto spanish plates as soon as possible, and will be looking to employ the services of a Gestor straight away. However, until this happens, i am not sure how to ensure that everything is legal. My english car insurance will be invalid (according to them) as soon as i leave the UK, and the spanish insurance companies won't insure me until i finally get it onto spanish plates.
Any advice from someone who's done this would be hugely appreciated, and apologies again if this has been covered in an earlier thread.

You should have told the insurance company that you needed a 90 day european cover, thats what I did. Back then I had 6 months to register it and I made sure I did within that time. I told them I was going to Spain for three months to see if I liked it, and if I did I might stay, but otherwise I might come back
Have you already told them of your plans? Otherwise if you have a UK addy of a relative just tell them you are going on an extended holiday
There are companies over here that will insure UK plated cars so I am told, and no doubt people on here will tell you who they are. You should keep your road tax and MOT up to date whilst its on UK plates.
