Smile Car Hire

We are flying into Seville in July and it seems the car hire is quite expensive at the airport.
Does anyone know any decent car rental sites that are fairly cheap.

Cheers

That might have more to do with July, rather than the airport. I always use Economy Car Hire - much mentioned here - for both Seville and Faro. Usually very competitive and good value. They used to use Crown, last time we flew via Seville.

If you do a search on the thread (at top of the page) you will find the opinions of many on car hire to Esuri.

Also try Amigos - Have just secured a people carrier for 1 week for £175 in July. Smaller vehicles obviously less.

Hi Brizey

Have you a web address for them please ? Also, if you pick up from Faro is it OK to take the car into Spain with no additional costs ?

Thanks Mel

Steve,
Try GOLDCAR. Their pricing is very competitive because they are off airport. However, they pick you up in the airport and it is only a couple of minutes to their premises, which are on the main road, so dead easy to set out on your journey and even easier when you return the car. I have used them twice and would never go back to on airport car hire.
Regards
Andy

I always fly into Seville and if you are flying with Ryanair... then use the link to Hertz for good deals ( cheaper than going to Hertz direct). Hertz have an airport return and pick -up... so it is quite easy. I have written a detailed directions from the Airport to Islantilla / Lepe... if you want it.
I have also gone through the Car-trawler web-site who booked me a car with Niza cars... they are about 2 k from the airport ( 5 mins)...

Have just tried Amigo's,seem expensive. 12 days from Faro September £285 plus additional driver and Portugal exit charges of at least 50 Euro's. Struggling to find a car under the £280 mark with any of the providers.

Car hire is very expensive this year due to a lack of available vehicles.

Look at this thread on the main forum.

I am hiring a car from Zitauto from Faro with full comprehensive insurance, no excess and travel into Spain as far as Sevilla for 9 days, end of July for €200.
Pretty good deal I think but you have to email them for a quote.

Hi George

I have used Zitauto before and been happy with them but recently (1-9 July)
used Dovehouse in the UK and via them booked a car with MasterKings at Faro. Paid a small deposit in £'s to Dovehouse then the balance in Euros when we collected the car. €160 in total for a smart, lovely to drive VW Polo. All very easy.

All the best
