Re: Car hire
Usually for bookings of 3 days or less, car hire companies will allow the full/full option but you do have to ask at the time of booking and probably again at the time of collection.
Only problem is, where's a petrol station close to the airport? I don't recall one within miles of Jerez? I always book the smallest car for short breaks and refuse all offers of a free upgrade as larger car usually equals larger fuel bill!! |

Now this road is a dual carriageway so you have 2 options. When you leave the petrol station continue going northwards until you find a way to cross over to the south bound carriageway ! Or the easiest option is to take the route the rentals cars take to get to the airport ! This may not be obvious at first site but have managed it. basically you go through the rental car parking area ! Now I am also sure that there is a garage actually on the main road going north out of Jerez only a few kms short of the airport. Must loook out for that one next time I use Jerez. |
Re: Car hire
I always end up using holiday autos. Be sure to check the insurances out at the begining. Whereby if you have to cancel you can get all your money back. We once didnt fly, and hadn´t taken out the insurance for about 4 pounds, but they did let us transfer the booking to our other holiday which they didnt have to do.
With the petrol, they offer you 2 options from what i remember when we used them in October. Either you bring the car back empty and they will fill the car up but obviously you pay either the same or a few pence more per litre. Or you Fill it up before you get there. You have to sort out which arrangement you are going to do before you take the car. We couldnt find the petrol station at luton and thought we just take it back empty and let them fill it up. They then wanted double the money per litre! |
Re: Car hire
There is a BP garage on the airport site just past the roundabout on the right, access might even be from the roundabout.

However when I posted my previous posting it was in regard to your 16 day trip in June/July, at that time I obtained a quote from 'Doyouspain' for a 5dr clio with a/c for 16 days covering that period, the quote worked out about 9 euros cheaper than your quote, not a lot I know, but better in our pockets than theirs. Looking at Carjet today for the same booking the price given is £167.31 or 260.32 euros. which is less than the £183 you were previously quoted. As we know Carjet and Doyouspain are in direct competition with each other so consistently change their price structure (same as Ryanair) although at least with the car companies if at a later date one finds a better deal it is easy to cancel existing booking and rebook. At least now it has given you another alternative to Carjet to check before booking. We are also going over during April/May but for 28days and at the moment Carjet is cheaper than Doyouspain for that period, so have changed my booking, but will keep a check on both sites for my best option until nearer the date of departure.

We used to use Avis cos 'im in the office' gets a discount through the firm but we found that carjet works out cheaper. Our only beef is the bringing vehicle back empty, impossible to judge tank level in a strange car safely so you always end up giving them fuel, unless you like living dangerously and don't mind missing the flight!! with Avis you take car back full. We used to fill up on the way from Chiclana to Jerez, the petrol stn that is on the old road on the right, so tank could not have been totally full but they never bothered to check. |
