Default Car Accident Advice/Linea Directa

I was the victim of a three vehicle shunt today, mine being the car in front shunted by the middle car.

The driver of the third (the car at the back) admitted liability.

I,m insured with Linea Directa and have a 200 euros excess.

While I,m blameless if my claim goes through Linea Directa do I have to pay the excess?

Has anyone had a similar experience?

Any help and/or advice appreciated.

Hi, I am insured with Linea Directa as well, and a couple of years ago a car hit my car which was parked at the time, I spoke to Linea Directa and they pursued the claim and the other driver admitted liability. I also have about 200e excess but as the other driver was at fault I did not have to pay this.

Thanks for that.
I have spoken to them this morning and they assured me that if the other Insurance accepts liability I will have to pay the excess or lose my NCB.

However they did say I will have to pay the excess and when the other company accept liability it will be refunded to me.

Many thanks again for your help.

That sounds different to me, I am fully comp are you. I did not have to pay anything upfront at all and it did not affect my NCB, but my car was parked
in the street at the time with several witnesses including myself.

Many Thanks for responding.

Yes I am fully comprehensive.

I looked at the Linea Directa booklet this morning and it does say any excess has to be paid upfront and will be reimbursed when they other insurance company settle.

Hopefully that will be the case and I do not have to go chasing LD to pay up!

I will however plead ignorance when collecting the car from repair and say that I did,nt think I had to pay the excess as the Insurance would pay all the bill and see what they say.
Probably no pay-no car!

Thanks again for your help.
