To get back to me little casa in espana. Been back in England just over a week now and let me tell you all it's been a week to long. It's been nice seeing my mother and rest of the family but after being in Spain for a while it dawned upon me how much a different way of life it is in Spain and how deeply depressing it is in England. Same old routines mon-fri people working 9-5 getting home having a shower, having tea, watch a bit of tv soaps etc then bed about 10-10.30pm ready for the same old thing the next day. You don't see nowhere near as much of your life living in England as you do on Spain everything is so slow and laid back, sunshine in the day, light clothing, few red wines and tapas of a night out socialising. I do not intend on coming back to England for a long while now unless I really have to *touch wood*.

When was the last time you all visited England or don't any of you intend to ?

I know a couple who ain't stepped foot back in England for 25 years straight and I can't say I blame them tbf.

I haven't been to UK for 6 years and have no desire to, been there long enough.

Nah not really of course I have to work mate and I work hard at what I do. I'm just saying its completely different way of life in Spain where as in england there isn't much to do let's be honest. I ain't slagging England off because I was born and raised there and if it wasn't for England I wouldn't of turned out to be the man I am now but lets face it it's 2012 now and England's f****d am I right or wrong ??

Do a bit of research into Spain's economy and unemployment and then post again.

As for the lifestyle, it is what you make of it. Around here it is only tourists and retired foreigners who are out during the week. Spaniards rarely are, they have work the next day, kids to look after etc

And if you lived in a London, Edinburgh etc, you could be out every night of the week in a different place if you wanted to, just like in any other city in the world, including the Spanish ones

I love Spain, but I think you have got "grass is greener" syndrome, maybe you've just had a nice holiday?

Seeing as you recently posted that London was filthy, don't you think it would have been worth mentioning that it was when you was there 6 years ago...lots of things change in that time. Also you have had a lot to say about people earning loads doing hospital runs.....so it's all hearsay then, like a lot of the crap you post:thumbdown:

Wrong.... it is your perspective. If you don´t want to spend time there that is fine, that is your choice. I love Spain but I love the UK as well. They are two different places and I get pleasure from both of them. In the UK I have my family, shops, libraries, museums, theatres, pubs, beautiful countryside and friends. In fact I find there is a lot more to do. However in Spain I have the weather, which is a big plus, love sitting in a bar on a sultry evening with a beer but do get bored. For me the ideal solution would be 3 months at a time in each country but financially not possible.

I do have family and friends in the Uk you know, and it is a friend who does the voluntary work, so I do have first hand knowledge of some things. You always seem to insinuate that I make things up. Says a lot about you.

Well I do believe that things will have changed in the UK, but tell me how they got better, they are always complaining they don't have money even to repair the frost damaged roads. Maybe they kept the cash to clean up London.

Spain might be skint but they have new roads everywhere and they give subsidized internet for it's locals and free TV to all homes in my Town.

Remind me what the Uk gives it's hard workers.

This does make me laugh. The roads round us are terrible the biggest pot holes I have ever seen and as for subsidised internet and free TV! Point me in this direction.

For starters I came out with my dad who has been living in Spain on and off for years it's only because he has retired he has made the permanent move now and while I'm staying with him on a "temp" basis I'm looking for my own place in alicante also on a temp basis because in the near future I intend on moving down to estepona where I have many family and friends there and in Marbella who have also been living in Spain for a long while so please don't tell me about grass is greener and hit the ground or whatever and also don't question me about my employment because for your information my business isn't in Spain but I can comfortably run it from Spain.

Sorry if iv offended anybody by telling the gospel truth about England and how it's become not a very nice place to live and praising Spain oops.

Gospel truth? How can that be? All you can report on is your particular area which you know. The UK is a varied country which has problems, but, doesn´t Spain? My daughter and her family lived in Spain for two years and are very happy that they are now back in the UK. Spain is great if you have work but shit if you don´t.

Not sure where you live, but they have ruined a lovely dirt track here that was so pretty and only a little short cut across the village, it's now like a wide motorway total waste of money. We don't see many cars out and about but the roads are stunning, they even painted the edges on both sides of a newly tarred country road that is 18kms long.

If you live in the English ghettos over here and don't get about you're never going to see.

They may be taking the p£ss with Euro money, so what, why doesn't the Uk do it?

If you knew anything about the EU you'd be aware that the UK is a net contributor, whilst the Spanish have been raking it in and spending it like there's no tomorrow.

Unfortunatelly tomorrow has arrived a little earlier than expected and there's now a whole queue of E.Europeans all fighting like mad to get their greedy snouts in the trough as well.

Why would anyone want to come to a Brish expat forum, mainly to slag of the country that although the expats have left there, still dont have the opinion that you have, ie that it is F**ked,as you put it.

If your father has just retired you cant be all that old,if you run a successful business, and if you have a load of money, as you have already stated in previous posts, why are you so disilusioned with the UK.

Quite frankly I dont know many Spanish of your age who can say that they have achieved what you have, so the UKmust have played somepart in it, and yet your posts sound more like you have been clobbered at every turn by the UK and it policies, usually such bitterness towards ones home country is usually the domain of the serious knocked about citizens or ex citizens.

Ok I'm 25 I'm a grafter I earn money iv got ambition I ain't loaded that was a sarcastic joke but my ambition is to be loaded I'm good at what I do iv come to Spain to enjoy my life. I'm from Birmingham it's a dump it's full of immigrants who get everything before our own people and it actually pays to sign on the dole rather than work in England now it's a shithole end of I don't care what you say the country is finished in 10 years time it's going to be mainly Muslim do why would I a 25 year old lad want to sit in that everyday I don't have kids I ain't got any responsibility and I'm saying what I think weather you like it or not you don't need to worry about me do ya ? Everything about the way England is run is wrong face facts and if I was to have kids I will not be bringing them up in the dump that England is now. Ok fair enuff people are happy in England many friends of mine and family are happy in England getting on with there own lives fair play to em but everybody is entitled to there opinion and I ain't sitting around back home scratching my arse thinking hmmm I wonder if things will get better in England 1 day cus it ain't it's getting worse. I mentioned earlier the England is F****d Brigade, most of whom were losers who were glad to get back there within a few years.

I could also mention the "Plonky Brigade", who mostly seemed a level headed decent sort of crowd when they arrived.

However a few years of pointless,aimless existance spent mainly in bars downing cheap alcohol, left many of them with pickled livers, pickled brains and well on the way down the tubes within just a few years of arriving.

One guy I knew well fell of the top of a building when drunk, another simply tripped over his veranda wall and smashed his skull and another died in hospital with the usual liver problem.

All three I knew well, but never tried to match them drink for drink and I always retained other much more healthy interests, like chasing women every night, :rofl: to keep me fit and compus mentis,..well almost,anyway.

Just a friendly warning to those still in the early years of enjoying their "Spanish honeymoon".

See this is the thing with me I maybe 25 but I'm not your average lager lout Brit who's in Spain getting pissed up every night I'll save that for when I retire hehe business comes first but business also comes with socialising so I don't mind going out for a couple halves or a glass of red. What I love about Spain also is you meet people from all over the world who are decent people and sometimes there in the same line of business as you do it's win win ain't it
