Question Cancelling Movistar Service for the home

Hi everyone, how easy is it to cancel Movistar home phone & internet service. I have been a customer for several years. How did you do this? Visit a shop, do it online, write a letter, phone call?

Your experiences appreciated

It's difficult, letter to Head Office is the only way.

I have a feeling that when I left Spain I called them to cancel it then took the (rented) phone into one of their shops. It's a while ago now though.

We wrote, telephoned and went into one of their offices - still they overcharged us and we're still complaining now!

Remember, their offices are only franchises so they won't really be very interested.

Having recently acquired the Movistar landline/WiFi service I enquired as to how I go about cancelling the contract. I have been told that there is a number to ring first to cancel the connection to the house. They should give me a reference number, I take that, along with the WiFi modem to the Movistar office in my local town. They go on their computer and confirm, against the reference number, that they have recieved the Modem and then that is it cancelled. Needless to say, sounds simple in theory but I won't know how easy it really is until I put it into practice.

With both my Movistar mobile and Vodacrap land line I gave up cancelling after numerous attempts.

Eventually closed the bank account and left the country.

Signing up with a phone/internet provider is a bit like checking in to Hotel California.

What? You want to ... what?
Oh, not sure we have a procedure for that.

Movistar recommend that you call 1004 to cancel any contract.

An alternative would be to send a text message with all the details to 1004. I have texted faults to 1002 and have always received an immediate response, so I would expect the same to apply with the customer service department on 1004.

I had my moviestar internet installed 5 weeks ago and have not had any payments taken from the bank yet! I assume that I will be paying the monthly bill through the bank. Is it usual for them to be late taking payment or should I be making enquiries soon? Don't want to be disconnected.
Thanks

I called 1004 and cancelled & told them I had sold the house and would be leaving the country (they then now there is no point going any further)
As asked I took the router to the local Movistar shop with my code they gave me & job done.

I have just cancelled my Movistar Fusion contract. I did try my suggestion of texting 1004 but they just refer you their website. I called them and they said the contract would be terminated automatically as I had ported both numbers to a new ISP.
