Their success is based on the goodwill of their customers without which they may as well shut up shop.

Im sure youd find some are desperate to earn a real income so a six month stint back in Blighty might just be the answer , their business may go the other way as well and its always possible they'd come back to something more profitable than they had before, seeing as most expats dont have any business sense anyway ;)

No it wasn't, but after I sold out of it I took on a small franchise. The same rules would apply. Especially where cash was concerned

The big players do it through agencies. In that way they have something to fall back on (in theory). There is a way to expand. You do what I did .. advertise and then personally interview every applicant ... or head hunt people that you know are good.

You're hallucinating now, aren't you.

The OP could well find himself overstaying his welcome a tad, with twenty years or so at His Majesty's pleasure,( the less than appetising Spanish version of porridge.)

I dunno, perhaps the girls on the 332, at least there would be no overheads.

Hi,

I am interested in moving to Spain for a short while, 12 to 18 months ideally. I have a good job in the UK, but currently find myself with very few commitments and in a position to realise a burning desire I have had for some time. I have always wanted to live and work in a coastal area of Spain, I am not in a position to buy or lease a business as I want to return to my career here. However, I realise there may be Brits in Spain that have a business of some kind that they want a break from for a while. I would be willing to learn and run / manage / caretake that business for them, I would not need a significant salary, I am not looking to make money - but to have the experience and do something completely different for a while. I have been dreaming of it for years and need to get it out of my system.

If you have a business, or know of someone who has a business and wants a break for a while - please do make contact with me. I can provide references, characters references and anything else required to show I am of good character etc.
I have no preference as to business type, I will consider anything (legal lol) from tourism to mainstream.

Please PM me if you think you can help.

Thank you.:fingerscrossed:

I will take you on trust.. but i need a deposit of 100,000 euros in case my Empty Bar loses money..You will get your money back when i come back..Which is never..

That's what I thought, someone will leave them in charge, come back to the UK, and conveniently not return having removed all their money, and the Spanish form they have signed when they took over 'temporarily' turns out they have bought the lease and are now responsible while the previous owners are back in the UK.

We had visitors who thought just that, asking why all the bus stops were at roundabouts..

So the fact that the girls were half naked with most of their worldly goods on open display didn't ring any bells or provoke any unusual reactions ???

Err, how old were your guests by the way ?

well 2 were around 40.. sheltered upbringing?, but I suppose they didn't see much of that in the UK, at least not at roundabouts. Was talking to one person over there who had taken her mother out for a trip, and gone round one of the 'better populated' roundabouts, her mother did ask why those women were wearing fur knickers..
