This really is a bit silly, all this picking up on typing errors, and who said what ? some have apparently spoken but no post appears. None of which helps the OP in finding an answer nor in feeling very welcome.

Maybe like me he/she has no accents on their keyboard. I have them on a note pad on my side bar and can cut and paste them when I want/need to.

Sorry OP I have no idea about life guard employment not a beach goer unless it is near empty and only paddle and walk.

I don't know about other keyboards but on mine I press alt 164 to get ñ

Must make sure number lock is on or it doesn't work

Spain doesn't do international unless there is a lot of money in it for her

You can get your qualifications "homogolated", but this can take about a year and only applies to certain qualifications.

However, I feel the biggest barrier will be getting to know the people locally who will want to hire you and then actually finding the available positions, and then living on the 700-800 euros per month. Not impossible, but will require a lot of ground work and very good Spanish

I'm sure you believe you're right. Let's hope you are. And I do hope you find the work you're looking for, though it might be harder than you anticipate.
:fingerscrossed:

it wasn't Mitz...................this time;)

very valid point about bureaucracy though - you'd think degrees would be recognised here but often they aren't - & even if they are they still have to be homologado, which can be a long drawn out & expensive process

Degrees are almost always recognised, but yes the process is long. The exception are professions like law and teaching where the curriculum is very different, so you may have to do an extra year or two of the course in Spain (or more). And then do oposiciones

Luckily private companies dont ask you to homologate your qualifications but the civil service/government do. So if the ayuntamiento provide the lifeguarding services it could be that much more difficult

However, I get the feeling that to qualify as a lifeguard it is only the case of doing a 3 day course anyway :)

To be fair to the OP, someone had already picked him up for not putting a squiggle on his n. You can't blame him if he thinks such nitpicking is the norm on this forum...

...although of course we all know it isn't, don't we....?
