Buying a Car
Hi,
I'm due to move to Valencia late October and really haven't quite decided what the best thing will be to do with my car.
I think the best thing to do would be to leave it in the UK and have it sold here and in the mean time rent a vehicle over there in the hope it sells quickly giving me the funds to buy a second hand car over there.
Alternatively I have seen Left Hand Drive specialists in the UK, which is tempting if I can get a good deal from one of these places for a Spanish registered car.
Would love to hear others experiences of how the transitioned from their UK cars to Spanish cars and what their experience of buying a car over there in Spain was like.
Thanks

Why not sell your car before you leave and rent in the UK until you go ? less hassle I can assure you .

Re: Buying a Car
Thanks for your input.
It's looking likely that family will be coming to join us for a week when we first travel out there, and they would be taking our UK car there and back. So I'm thinking what I'll do is see about long term rental in Spain until the car is sold in the UK and I am in a position to buy a used car in Spain.
Dealing with cars in Spain certainly looks much more complicated than it does here in the UK!!

So it seems! Just been searching on what C4 Grand Picassos go for over there same age as mine and its enlightening.. However I do expect they last much longer due to the climate.
I remember being in Egypt driving around in my friends car which was a 197x fiat still going strong! It was like Columbos Car :-)

Hola
The EU in their wisdom are trying to change the situation to make it easier to re-register a car in a different EU country.
The actual law maybe a while off and I wouldn´t want to try to 2nd guess the exact laws, but something to bear in mind.
