Default Buying appartment in murcia

Hello my friends i am new to forum,in august this year i am buying a home in murcia,but i have a problem ,i want to get residency card but not permanent as i will be only living there for approximately 6 months a year staggered over a 12 month period.i have a minor criminal record about 30 years ago ,i was young and stupid ,will it stop me getting any type of residency card.please help because moving to spain is all i have wanted to do in the last 10 years and i can now do it.

EU citizens can reside part-time in Spain without applying for residencia which is only for full-time permanent residents.

... but, after 3 months I would recommend you sign on the list of foreigners (get residency)

If you hit the magic 183 days in Spain in a calendar year (in total), the you are automatically considered tax resident here.

Your criminal record should not be an issue as I don't think they make any checks for residency.

Thank you my friend for your swift reply my minor criminal record was for driving with a elasped insurance policy of one day since then squeaky clean,I thought that it would detrement me even thinking about residency.
