A relative of mine is a British expat in spain and uses amazon regularly. Their spanish isn’t very good so I doubt they’re navigating the spanish amazon site. I’m fairly certain they have prime as they often get next or two day delivery so surely they can’t be using amazon U.K. and shipping from the U.K. each time.
I’d like to surprise them with an amazon gift card but need to buy it for the correct site. From the above would you expect them to have a spanish account? Does amazon spain have a translate to English button? Surely all their orders can’t be shipping from the U.K. so fast.

Thank you. How does it know the user prefers English though if you’re browsing amazon.es on spanish wifi?

I think any translate option on Amazon Spain is a function of Chrome rather than the Amazon itself. As far as I know the only European Amazon site with language selection is .de.

Every browser has a language setting. Mine, on this browser, is set to "English (United Kingdon)". This setting is available to web sites and they can thus set their pages to that language, or ask if you would prefer that.

Not for translation they don't, you're probably confusing region settings with translation but they are two entirely different things.
Which browser are you using?
Rosemary: Sounds like you're using Chrome in which case you can turn off the translate pop up in the settings under 'Language' then expanding the hidden menu under the \/

I am sure if I can navigate amazon es and turn it in to English and pay for things(by the way cheaper than uk and good postage if any at all) anyone can do it just by continually going on there site ,you soon get the hang of it.

Hi , an English friend kindly bought us an Amazon for Xmas , buying it from Amazon UK account , we could not use it via our Amazon es account , if its bought via Amazon UK it can only be used to either buy or credit an Amazon UK account.Hope this helps.

Hi , if you type in Amazon e s in google chrome , it will open the Amazon e s site and translate into English ( don,t ask me how !!).In future always open Amazon e s , and you should be be able to view and order in English , works for me !!.You still can,t purchase a gift card from Amazon U K and use it to credit or buy off Amazon e s.Hope this helps.
