Hello....new to this but just wondered what people generally think is best to do....am guessing that renting to start would be the best idea, any advice welcome, thank you

No doubt about it, rent for at least a year. Your view of the region you choose will change and , once on the groud, much easier to explore without the burden of a "Done deal"

Anybody any idea of any waiver time when renting in Spain (before potentially buying) - where your UK house proceeds are not classified for the Wealth Tax and also any liability for Spanish CGT.

1. The sale was the owner's principal residence, minimum of three years.
2. The new principal residence is purchased within 2 years of the sale.
3. The total amount is reinvested
3. If the owners are over 65 years. If the property is jointly-joined and only one of a couple is over 65 years the tax is charged at 50% in a joint declaration
I do believe this applies to any principle residence within the EU so what happens after Brexit no idea.
