Question Bulk water needed

I have a friend who has all but run out of water due to a variety of problems.
Their house in the campo is rented out for the next 10 weeks and they need bulk supplies delivered to top up their Emabalces within the next 2 weeks. They can get a water tanker 6000 ltrs 60 euros towed behind a tractor but this is not viable due to cost and time a delivery run takes about 3 hours
Does anyone know of a company who will deliver water in bulk say 30000 litres at a time in a truck?

It can be done, but not sure where you would go. We paid to have our pool filled rather than risk running the borehole dry, and they delivered 12000 litres a time in a wagon. this was on the Costa de la Luz. We paid around 85 eu a wagon.

You should have a yellow pages in your area or you can look online which may give some local firms. Speaking to locals can be of benefit as well as they tend to know the best sources as well. I would be lost without my neighbours help at times.

Sorry Actually it is called an ALJIBE pronounced 'Al hee bay' which is Arabic as you say - the Moors developed fantastic cisterns mainly underground to store rain and other water. And before the Moors, the Romans also built many similar 'depositos' in Spain. As have generations to this day.

Hi Nige,

Yes we are building a cistern as part of our new villa build to store water for the pool top-up, the garden and the fountains. Funny thing is I have read elsewhere that to keep the water quality good we shall have to put an eel in thats what the Romans did anyway so we shall as well!

Regards,

John.
